Sheila brought her African grey parrot Charlie to Village Vets in Woolton, Liverpool, for an aerial photoshoot unlike anything we’d ever tried before.
About the shoot
Charlie was one of our first bird shoots. The concept was to photograph Charlie flying around indoors in a vets consult room, and we went to great lengths to adjust the lighting and camera settings to get the best results in difficult circumstances.
Sheila and Charlie had been practising for months in the build up to the shoot, teaching him to fly back and forth from his perch, so we used this to our advantage to capture some truly remarkable shots.
Throughout the shoot, Robert was extremely patient and nothing was rushed. Robert took time to chat with Charlie and let him settle and feel comfortable before starting to photograph him, resulting in a wonderful collection of photos i’ll always treasure.
